Severe lower back pain is something that troubles millions and millions of people all over the world. It is a very common issue and getting relief from the pain is extremely difficult. The reason why it is hard to get relief from the pain in your back, is because doctors usually treat the symptoms and do not focus on the causes. Lower back pain does not occur overnight, it may take months or even years before you start feeling pain. The reasons why you have pain, is because your spine and body have been literally pulled out of their normal positions. These dysfunctions are caused by muscle imbalance. When muscle groups in one side are tight, then they are weak on the other side.

It is even possible that muscle imbalance in your thighs can pull your pelvis and spine out of position and cause you pain. The actual causes of the severe lower back pain may not originate where you actually feel the pain. This is what makes it very hard to eliminate the pain.

Muscle imbalance is the main cause of back pain. The good news is that muscle imbalance can be treated by doing simple exercises. There is no need for surgical intervention. The only problem with doing the strengthening and stretching exercises, is that you need to know what is the cause of your pain. Then you can choose the correct exercises and if you do them regularly, you will certainly get relief.

A lot of times people choose random exercises, that do not help them get rid of the cause of the lower severe back pain and make their problem even worse. Before you get started with these exercises, you need to know what exercises you are suppose to do in the first place. I personally suggest you to get a really great exercise video program, that shows you exactly what exercises you are suppose to do and how to do them. Then you at least know that you are doing the right things and that is extremely important.
